Profile
Dave Haslett is a Research Assistant Professor in the Division of Social Science. He received his PhD in the Language Processing Lab at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His dissertation investigated how people rely on similar-sounding words to represent the meanings of unfamiliar words, and his current research applies those findings to large language models. By better understanding how word meanings are represented in large language models, we can more accurately instruct and interpret artificial intelligence.
