Profile

David Hendry is an Associate Professor in the Division of Social Science. He obtained his Ph.D. in Political Science and M.S. in Statistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research interests are largely in the areas of political behavior, political psychology, and political communication, employing both experimental and observational methodological approaches. Research topics include social conformity, immigration attitudes, mechanisms to increase civic participation, and the political consequences of contact with the criminal justice system in the United States. His past research has been published in journals such as the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Journal of Political Science, the Journal of Politics, and Statistics in Medicine.
