Sangyoon Park is an Associate Professor in the Division of Social Science at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His research focuses on development economics and economic history, with particular attention to how policies, institutions, and historical legacies influence economic outcomes in developing countries. He is also interested in applying AI and machine learning methods to enhance empirical research and policy evaluation. His work has been recognized with the Korean Economy Research Award for best paper on Korean Economy in 2024.
