Yifan Shen is Assistant Professor at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in the Division of Social Science. He obtained his PhD in Sociology from Brown University. He studies how ongoing changes in family life are intertwined with economic inequality in the United States and China. His recent work focuses on explaining the rising earnings correlation between spouses in the United States. His work has appeared in Demography and American Journal of Sociology.
