A Record Year for the Division: Six Faculty Members Named in the 2026 Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientists List
We are proud to share that, Prof. Yongshun CAI, Prof. Stuart GIETEL-BASTEN, Prof Ping LI, Prof. Barry Victor SAUTMAN, Prof. Kevin Kim-Pong TAM, and Prof. Jin WANG from the Division of Social Science, School of Humanities and Social Science (SHSS) at HKUST have been recognized in the 2026 Stanford/Elsevier World's Top 2% Most-Cited Scientists List, marking a record year for the Division.
The Stanford/Elsevier World's Top 2% Scientists List identifies leading researchers worldwide using composite citation indicators, including total citations, citations to single-authored publications, and the H-index. Covering 22 subject fields and 174 sub-fields, the ranking comprises two lists: one recognizing career-long citation impact and the other recognizing single-year research impact.
This outstanding achievement reflects the Division's commitment to research excellence and its contributions to advancing knowledge in the social sciences. It also highlights the international impact of our faculty members' research and their dedication to addressing important societal and academic challenges.
